At the RCBC dinner meeting on February 24, 2015, our guest speaker was H.E. Homer A. Mavritommatis, Ambassador of Cyprus to Lebanon.

In his talk, entitled “Cyprus, Lebanon’s Gateway to Europe”, he reviewed the ancient and more recent history of the island and drew a parallel between its contemporary role and its historical role as the Phoenicians’ gateway to the rest of the world. The attendees, who included a large number of guests from other Rotary clubs, were also regaled with a charming performance of Greek dances.
